Tanzania: Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is an 11-day customizable school group trip to Tanzania, where students climb to the roof of Africa on Mount Kilimanjaro, then go on safari to rest and recover. The program centers on a seven-day trek up Mount Kilimanjaro. The longer route gives the group more time to adjust to the altitude and improve the odds of reaching the summit. After the climb, students go on a safari to discover the natural beauty and wildlife of East Africa. This Tanzania school trip is a real physical challenge for students with a good level of physical fitness.

Rustic Pathways school group travel programs provide educational travel experiences that take learning beyond the classroom.

Yes. Students room with same-gender peers. Staff stay in adjacent rooms.

What about medical emergencies?

All Program Leaders are first-aid certified. Nearest hospitals are mapped out in all locations. Our health & safety team reviews all medical forms before departure and works with families to plan medications, allergies, and dietary needs.
