The Best Gift Ideas for Jet-Setting Teens

The holidays are in full swing! Hanukkah started last weekend and Christmas and Kwanzaa will be here soon. So what do you get for a teen or student in your life who loves to travel? We’ve got your gift shopping covered with ideas for any budget. We’re sharing 7 great gift ideas for teen globetrotters:

#1 A good waterproof phone case – You can probably buy a GoPro, but instead of getting a separate camera, get your student a waterproof phone case. This is perfect for when students participate in adventure activities like surfing in Costa Rica or snorkeling in Fiji.  There are lots of models to choose from, and you can take your pick from the best waterproof phone cases.

#2 Deck of Cards – This is a great stocking stuffer (just in case you needed ideas for that too)! Playing cards are now at a whole new level, and you can get them in any theme or print you’d like. We were so excited to discover  Star Wars playing cards!

We’re geeking out over these designs, but if you aren’t a fan, no worries, you can print your own designs with services like Shutterfly or VistaPrint.

#3 A portable, reusable straw – If your student loves traveling, then they probably already have a reusable water bottle, which is why we recommend the reusable straw to accompany it. These are collapsible and can easily clip to a backpack.  We love sharing tips for sustainable travel, and using less plastic whenever possible, especially while traveling, is a great thing to do.

#4 A good travel pillow – This one is pretty self explanatory. After all, sometimes a long flight is necessary to get to paradise! A travel pillow makes those plane rides or day trips more comfortable. These travel pillows have great reviews.

#5 An anti-theft backpack – We recommend any traveler, regardless of age, to be vigilant when traveling abroad. Having your personal belongings stored in one of these backpacks with an “invisible zipper” will give you more peace of mind.

#6 An Instax camera – Instax cameras are modern day polaroid cameras, meaning you get instant photograph prints (no shaking of photo required)! These types of cameras are great for documenting travel memories on the go. They’re compact and lightweight and perfect for any travel journaling students might do on their program.

#7 The gift of travel – This might be the best holiday gift idea of all. Send your student on a life-changing adventure across the globe! Our group travel programs bring students (ages 12-22) together from around the world to explore new places, participate in meaningful service projects, and make new friends. This trip might very well change their life!
