Get your Open Water Dive certification or advance your certification while you dive below the ocean for the chance to see beautiful colonies of fish, sea turtles, eels, octopuses, and even sharks. Complete grassroots projects that benefit the community, locals, and students around the country. Visit villages nearby to help with infrastructure, environmental, or social-based service projects. Enjoy adventures and cultural activities—hike sand dunes, kayak through mangroves, swim in the local hot springs, watch a sunset at historical Momi Guns, visit local markets, and learn a traditional Fijian war dance called the meke. Join your group for a post-service debrief in the evenings, discussing what you experienced and learned through hands-on work in the community.
At the end of each program, students reflect on their experiences and the issues they engaged with, and talk about how to apply this new understanding to their own worlds. During or after their closing discussion, groups participate in Rustic Ties, a unique and powerful activity that allows students to capture the memories and learning moments of their program to process and share with their communities back home.
