Travel Info: Thailand

Rustic Pathways uses Singapore Airlines for our escorted group flights from the United States to Southeast Asia. Students leaving from the United States may either depart on one of our chaperoned group flights from a gateway airport (see pricing below) or may choose to arrange their own airfare to their destination country with our Self-Managed Airfare. Please note that choosing Self-Managed Airfare will incur a $175 fee. Students on chaperoned group flights are responsible for arranging their own domestic travel to our gateway city.

Students joining our programs from outside the United States are responsible for arranging their own travel to their destination. These students are also required to pay the $175 Self-Managed Airfare fee. You will be provided with specific arrival and departure time windows. Arriving or departing outside these windows may incur special transportation arrangements and fees. Students may alternatively choose to join one of our chaperoned group flights departing from one of our United States gateway airports in which case they would be responsible for arriving to and departing from that gateway airport. These students are not required to pay the $175 Self-Managed Airfare fee. Please reach out to your Personal Travel Advisor to confirm specific arrival and departure airports and times.

If flying on one of our chaperoned group flights via New York (JFK), students will have a fuel stop in Frankfurt, Germany (FRA) before proceeding to a connecting flight in Singapore (SIN) to Bangkok, Thailand (BKK) where they will connect with the other members of their program and proceed to their program destination.

If flying on one of our chaperoned group flights via Houston (IAH), students will have a fuel stop in Manchester, U.K. (MAN) before proceeding to a connecting flight in Singapore (SIN) to Bangkok, Thailand (BKK) where they will connect with the other members of their program and proceed to their program destination.

Visa Information

Students traveling on United States passports are not required to obtain a Thailand visa unless their stay exceeds 30 days. For students that stay longer than 30 days, we will arrange a second 30 day visa waiver.

Students traveling with Rustic Pathways on passports not issued by the United States are responsible for determining their own visa requirements. Please check with the appropriate consulate or embassy.
