New Partnership Provides Gap Year Students an Opportunity to Explore Career Interests While Traveling the World
HUNTSBURG, OH – March 7, 2016 – Rustic Pathways, a leader in providing international community service, education, and adventure programs for students around the world, today announced a partnership with Roadtrip Nation, an acclaimed career exploration organization, to create Rustic Roadtrips. The new offering provides students with structured Gap year experiences focused on exploring careers and the world.
“Most of today’s students enter college or university unsure of a career path and this in part explains why 68 percent of students do not graduate in four years, and 44 percent fail to graduate in six years*,” said Chris Stakich, CEO of Rustic Pathways. “The cultural immersion, travel and adventure programming offered by Rustic Pathways, combined with Roadtrip Nation’s strong career exploration component will create a powerful and unique gap semester for students allowing them to return to school more focused on life goals.”
Rustic Roadtrips will be epic three-month journeys that allow students to explore a region of the world and career options at the same time. In the first phase of the Rustic Roadtrip students will follow the Roadtrip Nation model scheduling interviews with leaders and innovators of interest in fields such as:
Students will then travel in small groups with Rustic Pathways’ highly trained program leaders to meet with these people and learn how they became successful. The travel portion of the program will take place in:
The firsthand stories and wisdom shared with students by the inspiring people they meet and interview will help bridge the gaps faced by students as they transition from academic study into career paths.
“Roadtrip Nation has offered tools and programs to help individuals find a satisfying career path since our first road trip in 2001,” said Mike Marriner, co-founder of Roadtrip Nation. “In today’s connected world partnering with Rustic Pathways will give greater insights from international leaders to help students on their future paths.
