Puerto Rico Turtle Project

Puerto Rico Turtle Project

From the moment it was settled by humans over 4,000 years ago, the beautiful and biodiverse island of Puerto Rico has accumulated a rich and unique history. You’ll get a glimpse into the time of the Spanish Empire as you stroll through Old San Juan. At El Yunque, the only tropical forest in the US National Forest System, you have a guided hike, swim, and visit to the beach. One night, you’ll go kayaking at night and have an unforgettable experience paddling through a “glow in the dark” bio-bay. Finally, you’ll contribute to the preservation and sustainability of Puerto Rico’s natural environment by conducting nesting patrols of sea turtles.

Highlights:

  • Practice your Spanish as you stroll through the cobblestone streets of Old San Juan
  • Swim in a waterfall in the El Yunque rainforest
  • Contribute to sea turtle conservation through a marine service project
