Rustic Alumni Videos Featured on Instagram for #wanderlustwednesday

More than 11,000 students traveled with Rustic Pathways to 21 countries in 2017. And many of them created videos about their experiences, capturing the energy and joy they felt while traveling, and posted them online.

We started sharing some of them on Instagram each week for #wanderlustwednesday. The videos depict the service these students completed, the foods they tried, the friends they made, and all of the adrenaline-pumping excitement they experienced along the way.

Check out a few of our favorites below and tune in each Wednesday on Instagram.

Immersing in Fijian Culture

Anna Rowland, of Burlington, Vermont, traveled to Tanzania with Rustic in 2016 and to Fiji this past summer on Sun, Sand, and International Service.

“My favorite part about my trip to Fiji was getting to know the locals, partaking in their traditions, and the friends I made there,” she said.

Meeting the People of Tanzania

Carly Casazza, of Ridgefield, Connecticut, traveled to Tanzania this past summer on Culture and the Crater and said she loved meeting the people during her travels.

“Throughout the trip, I made connections with the people who went on this trip and continue to talk to them frequently,” she said. “We were a loud, rambunctious, but fun group of kids having the time of our lives halfway across the world. The fact that we were all so disconnected made us even more connected with the culture and people around us.”

Reconnecting with Rustic Friends in Thailand

Danielle Berman, of Bethesda, Maryland, traveled with Rustic in 2015 and 2016. During her first year in Costa Rica, she made friends who she traveled with the next year in Thailand on Ricefields, Monks, and Smiling Children.

“My favorite part was spending another summer with them and hanging out with all the children,” she said.
