Choosing your Rustic program has never been simpler!
With improved search, recommended content, updated program pages, and a fresh new look, Rustic is proud to announce that we’ve just launched our NEW website.
These tools were designed to showcase our programs while also making it easier to compare program details and keep track of your top picks-so you can find the best program whatever your travel interests might be!
Below is a guide to help you navigate the new site. We’re also looking for feedback, so take our survey and tell us about your experience
1. A Faster Browsing Experience
To get started, click on “Menu” in the upper right corner of the site. If you’re a high school student or the parent of a high school student, click on the tab labeled “Student”. If you’re an educator who wants to take a group of students abroad, click on “Educators”. If you’re a high school graduate looking for an immersive travel and community service experience before starting college, choose “Gap Year”. Once you’ve identified your traveler type, browse programs by destination or program type to narrow your options.
2. Improved Filtering and Sorting
After navigating to a group of programs using destinations or program type, you can set filters to further narrow your results. Say you want to travel to Cambodia, in July, on a program with more than 20 community service hours for less than $3,000 —you can totally do that and finding those options is super easy! Once you set filter selection, sort programs by cost or by duration.
3. Ability to Track Your Favorite Programs
Like what you see? Click on the heart icon at the top of any program page and it’ll be saved to “My Favorites” (found under “My Rustic” in the menu). Every time you return to the site, you’ll be able to see what you’ve saved so you can easily compare and contrast between your top choices!
4. Recommended Programs and Content
Throughout the site, you’ll notice recommended content that will appear under headers such as “Recommended for You” or “Articles for You”. This new feature can help you discover a new program that you hadn’t yet considered. Alternately, it can surface an article that might help you along in the decision-making process.
5. Detailed Program Profiles
Each program page now has a revamped profile that breaks down details like cost, duration, and service hours. Program pages also list departure dates with availability to let you know which sessions are filling up. Each program will continue to have an itinerary, packing list, and list of FAQs.
