Apply for a Rustic Pathways Scholarship To Travel in 2019

Rustic Pathways is committed to making life-changing opportunities possible for students worldwide. We know how impactful our programs are, and continually strive to make them more accessible to all students.

In 2018, we awarded nearly $285,000 in scholarships to students who demonstrated financial need or merit achievement in four categories:

• Gap Year Scholarships – 3
• By Invitation Only Scholarships – 13
• Teacher Appreciation Program Scholarships – 59
• Service Scholarships – 106

We’re excited to announce our four scholarship opportunities in 2019. Applications open Oct. 17.

Service Scholarship

Rustic Pathways Service Scholarships enable students to obtain financial aid to cover between 50 to 100 percent of their program fee. The Service Scholarship is based on financial need and merit. Applicants must be first-time Rustic travelers who meet our financial need criteria. Scholarships are available for a select number of programs.

Applicants who apply before Dec. 3 will be notified Dec. 18. Anyone who applies after Dec. 3, but before March 20, 2019, will be notified April 5, 2019.

Critical Issues Summit Scholarship

The Critical Issues Summit Scholarship (awarded the past two years as By Invitation Only) is an extremely competitive application-based program. Rustic will cover 100 percent of the program cost and airfare for avid change makers to attend our inaugural Critical Issues Summit in Southeast Asia. We’re looking for students we believe have the power to become change makers in their local and global communities and will change the world for the better.

The application for the Critical Issues Summit Scholarship will close Jan. 17, 2019 (11:59pm PT). Applications will be reviewed by a committee and applicants will be notified Feb. 5, 2019.

Gap Year Scholarship

Rustic Pathways Gap Year Scholarship recipients are passionate, involved, and excited about learning new skills during a gap year or semester and bringing them back to their hometowns and universities. They are hardworking individuals who have impressed their teachers and peers. The Gap Year Scholarship covers between 25 to 100 percent of program fees for a gap semester.

Teacher Appreciation Program

As part of our commitment to education, we created the Rustic Pathways Teacher Appreciation Program. Through the Teacher Appreciation Program, we offer special rates of 15% off on our student summer programs to full-time employees of educational institutions.
