Service Scholarship (Financial-Need Based)

      Why do you want to participate in a Rustic Pathways program? This is an opportunity to tell us about your current school, extracurricular, or volunteer experiences, and demonstrate how you will positively contribute to a Rustic Pathways program.

      We award this scholarship as an investment in you. How will you, in turn, invest in your community?

Since the application must be completed in one sitting, we recommend that students prepare their essays beforehand.


Round 1: The first round of our 2018 Service Scholarship application opened on October 17, 2017 at 12:00am PST and closed on November 30, 2017 at 11:59pm PST. All applicants who applied before December 1st will be notified about the status of their application by December 15, 2017.

Round 2: The second round is now open as of December 1, 2017 at 12:00am PST. It will close again on March 19, 2018 at 11:59pm PST. These applicants will be notified by April 13th, 2018.

Students and families must be active participants in this process and fundraise throughout the year to meet their estimated financial contribution. To estimate your financial contribution, consider the airfare, visa, spending money, and vaccination costs associated with your selected program country.
