Split into groups to complete tasks for keepers of different departments, giving you hands-on involvement with enrichment activities for the animals. You may be involved in maintenance, cleaning enclosures, or preparing food for the animals—all the tasks which help the zoo to run smoothly. Enjoy your lunch each day while watching the famous croc show at the Crocoseum. Attend educational presentations on a range of key environmental, ecological, and husbandry topics, such as groundbreaking crocodile research and others related to animal behavior and training.
Engage with a member from the local Gubbi Gubbi Aboriginal people in the afternoons to hear the stories of the area’s earliest communities. At sunset, hike the mountain for its beautiful views or explore the local waterfalls before heading back to the base for the evenings.
Join your group for a mid-trip discussion where you’ll begin to reflect on what you’ve experienced and learned so far. Extend your trip by spending two days volunteering at a grassroots wildlife rehabilitation center.
