Serve alongside and under the guidance of Rustic Pathways staff and various members of the local school on your community projects. You’ll complete full days of service and spend time playing soccer with the primary school students, learning to make local dishes, milking cows, or hiking to a nearby waterfall.
Engage in an education and community infrastructure project designed to help the school and community to provide an improved and sustainable learning environment for the students. Depending on the primary school’s schedule, you may also work within the school, helping with classroom activities or sporting events.
Spend a day at Oldonyo Sambu, a market in northern Tanzania, where Masai tribesmen from all over the region convene each week. Observe cattle and goat bartering and visit butcher shops, homeware goods shops, clothing shops, produce markets, and more. Consider supporting local business by purchasing some small jewelry or knick-knacks, or even bargain for a chicken which can be used for dinner back in the village.
