Climate Leaders Fellowship

The Climate Leaders Fellowship is a leadership development program developed in partnership with Stanford University’s Deliberative Democracy Lab, the Rustic Pathways Foundation, and Rustic Pathways. This initiative empowers high school students globally to collaborate on tackling climate change challenges within their local communities. Fellows work on impactful projects, build lasting connections, and have the opportunity to showcase their work at a global summit. This program is more than an educational experience. It’s a launchpad for future leaders.

Who We Are

Founded in 1983, Rustic Pathways started with a single group of seven students exploring the Australian Outback. Students hunted their own food, bartered with Aboriginal communities, and lived completely off grid. That spirit of adventure still drives us today.

Now operating across 20+ countries with over 500 seasonal and 30 full-time staff, Rustic Pathways continues to empower students to create lasting change. Our work includes building homes on the Thai-Burma border, supporting global elephant conservation, protecting endangered turtles, awarding scholarships to students around the world, and helping youth launch their own nonprofits.

We believe travel is more than a trip. It’s a path to empathy, action, and global citizenship.

Join us in shaping the future. Vote today.
