I was on my Rustic Pathways trip to Hawaii over the 4th of July.

I remember having such a great but tiring day of service in Wapio valley and getting back to the hostel late at night. We weren’t sure if we were going to have any celebration, but when we arrived there were glow sticks, sparklers, chips, jello, and more waiting for us to celebrate.

One of our program leaders had taken his day off to prepare everything for us and it was amazing. It helped me realize how much our program leaders cared about us and loved what they do. It made our trip just a little bit more special and I’ll never forget it.
