Surf and Service in Costa Rica 2021
My Surf and Service trip to Costa Rica has definitely opened a new view of the world outside of my bubble.
Working in communities that are not as fortunate as mine has helped me to realize that things that I think are easy or necessities that I feel are abundant where I live are really not this way in other places around the world.
In addition to this, when working on our project we had to overcome working with a language barrier. This has helped me because I now have a different point of view on how to overcome any adversity that I face. I can figure out the solution on my own rather than having someone tell me the answer.
The most awesome and memorable moments were definitely spending time with my new friends. Whether it was the laughs we shared in our beds late at night, dance parties, and the countless waves we surfed together we were always having fun and never stopped smiling. I’ve made some friends that I will never forget and I can’t wait to see them again soon.
